Grace Acelia Bakken was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, in Normania Township on October 25, 1898, the daughter of late Aslak and Julia (Rikke) Oraas. She was baptized and confirmed at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church and attended school in Normania Township. On April 8, 1933, she married Peder Bakken. They farmed up until 1971 when they retired and moved to Clarkfield. In 1983 they celebrated their golden wedding. Grace was a faithful member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church and enjoyed working in ALCW. She was also active in Friendship Care Center Auxiliary. Grace was a resident of the Clarkfield area all her life. She passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on May 24, 1991. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Myrtle and brothers Marvin and Telford. She is survived by her husband Peder; brothers, Oral of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Walter of Montevideo, Minnesota, Ernest and wife Avenell of California; besides Nieces and Nephews.
