Gloria A. Nylander, 73, died January 14, 1998, in Maricopa, Arizona. Services were held Thursday, January 22, 1998, at the Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield, Minnesota, with burial at the Fridhem Cemetery of Tyro Township. Gloria A. Nylander was born on Dec. 31, 1924, at Montevideo, Minnesota, to Albertine and Ednah (Nelson) Friberg. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1942 and then studied vocal training in Minneapolis, Chicago and New York. She had made her home in Arizona for the past 16 years. She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Millemaci, and brothers Elsmore and Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Harold Newell and Les Nylander.
