Glenda Arneson Kompelien was born April 23, 1913, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Gilbert and Caroline (Berg) Arneson. She passed away on Monday, October 16, 1972, at the Weiner Memorial Hospital, Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 59 years. She became a child of God through Holy Baptism on June 22, 1913, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church, Hanley Falls, Minnesota, by the Rev. O. Lokensgaard. She later renewed her Baptismal Covenant through Confirmation on May 20, 1928, at Silo Lutheran Church (now Christ Lutheran Church), Cottonwood, Minnesota, by the Rev. N.L. Otterstad. After graduating from Cottonwood High School she attended St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught school for several years in the Cottonwood and Echo communities. On October 22, 1937, she was united in Holy Matrimony with Orville Kompelien by the Rev. H.J. Madland. They resided on a farm in Vallers Township until the time of her death. She was active in Farmers Union and had served as Lyon County DFL Chairwoman. She leaves in hope to meet in the resurrection of eternal life her husband, Orville; one daughter, Glenyce (Mrs. George Lewis) of Cottonwood; two sons: Darris of Cottonwood and Verlin of Golden Valley, Minnesota; six grandchildren; and one brother, Lester Arneson of Cottonwood. She was preceded in death by her parents. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
