Gladys Josephine Sandager was born March 1, 1904, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Her parents were Ole and Guri (Berg) Sandager. Gladys was baptized at Spring Creek Lutheran Church and Confirmed in Walahalla, North Dakota. In 1919 the family moved to Walahalla, North Dakota to farm. They moved back to Clarkfield, Minnesota, in 1923. Gladys attended Rural School District No. 28. She was a lifetime member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, until 1999 when she joined the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Gladys and her brother Oscar lived on their farm until they bought a home in Clarkfield. She has been residing at the Clarkfield Care Center since 1988. Gladys passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, on her 102nd Birthday, at the Clarkfield Care Center. She is survived by several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Guri Sandager and one brother Oscar. Blessed be her memory.
