Gladys Miredeth Pratt was born April 11, 1906 in Chippewa County, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Christinie (Carlson) Johnson. She married Harry A. Richardson, January of 1922. Harry passed away in Canby in March of 1939. Gladys married Albert Pratt in Montevideo in November of 1958. Albert passed away in May of 1991. Gladys was employed at various places including 'Jeb's Cafe' in Montevideo. She also served as house mother at Sauk Centre Home for Girls for two years. She resided in Boyd, MN for 46 years. She was a member of the Clarkfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. Gladys was a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center. She passed away on Saturday evening, April 19, 1997 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 91 years and 11 days. She is survived by four sons: Milroy Luverne (and Viola) Richardson of Lewisville, Texas; Kenneth (and Darlene) Richardson of Amhurst, Ohio; Curtis (and Sally) Richardson of Lac qui Parle Village, MN; and Harry (and Linda) Richardson of Waco, Texas; and daughter Helen (and George) Lehnertz of Sioux City, Iowa. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond Johnson of the Clarkfield Care Center and sister, Myrtle Becktle of Montevideo, MN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; plus numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Richardson and Albert Pratt; her parents; and four sisters: Anna Peterson, Ida Vane, Frances Falkum, and Agnes Johnson. Gladys will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
