They had immigrated to America, her from Bergen and he from from Lunde, Norway. She was extremely proud of her heritage and was able to visit the house her mother was born in at Norway in July, 1977. She was baptized March 20, 1914 in Cottonwood, Minnesota, and confirmed May 22, 1927, in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Her parents moved to Granite Falls when she was two months old. She married Edmund Hartfiel of Boyd, January 10, 1937, in Granite Falls. They lived in Boyd and later farmed in Tyro Township on Edmund's father's land. They later moved to Boyd. A few years after her husband "Sparky" died in 1958 she moved to Minneapolis to be near her children. She is survived by daughter, Rosalie (Mrs. Robert) Schewe of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Janice (Mrs. Jerry) Christenson of Fridley, Minnesota; and son Thomas Hartfiel of Fridley, Minnesota; granddaughter, Janell (Mrs. Brett) Christenson Fahrendorff of Minneapolis; grandson, Jason Hartfiel of Fridley; great-granddaughters, LeAnn Fahrendorff and Tracey Marie Fahrendorff; and daughter-in-law Mary; sons-in-law Jerry and Robert; sister Mrs. Vi Antonson of Los Angeles, California; brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lunde of Granite Falls; nieces and nephews (some in Norway). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister. Dearest Children, family, relatives and Faithful Friends Please do not grieve for I have not forsaken thee. At some time in life, all things must depart. As roses shed their petals with the coming of fall, trees shed their leaves with the coming of winter, people depart from their human forms to go to a far lovelier place than ever could be found in this life. I shall not be gone for I shall be with you everyday in your heart and in your thoughts. And every time you lift your eyes to the heavens think of me as the brightest star shining to show you I'm watching over you and will someday rejoin you in heaven. Do not be sad for me....but be glad for where I go there is no pain and no suffering. You must go on as before, because I need no aid, as the Lord is watching over all people since the beginning of time. Never forget me, but remember all the things we have meant to each other and all the good times we have gone through together. For as we have shared things in life, so shall we share the same things when we join hands on the Great Judgement Day. So until then, I shall say....goodby and fear not, as the time passes and you will have no more sorrow, but just a knowledge that I am happy with the one who has borrowed us to each other as long as he has. --Gladys Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
