Obituary

Gladys Isaacs Dotseth was born August 22, 1907, in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Peter and Annie (Stevens) Isaacs. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church and most recently a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. Gladys was united in marriage to E. Raymond Dotseth on January 22, 1929. Raymond passed away in 1963. Following his death, she worked at the B and B Cafe in Clarkfield, Minnesota, for a couple years and then was the Head Cook at the Clarkfield Care Center for 12 years, retiring at the age of 70. She was an active community and church volunteer as long as her health allowed her to do so. Gladys passed away Monday, September 17, 2001, at the Clarkfield Care Center, at the age of 94 years and 26 days. She had been a resident at the Care Center from late December of 2000, moving there from the Valhalla Apartments. She is survived by her son Erling of Clarkfield, Minnesota; daughters: Shirley (and Marlow) Alness of Bloomington, Minnesota, Jean (and Lyle) Sauer of Fountain City, Wisconsin, and Junice Dotseth of Stephenville, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and four step great great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister and brother-in-law Wanda and Clifford Remmen of Minnetonka, Minnesota; and sisters-in-law: Evalyn Isaacs of Clarkfield, Carol Taylor of Shakoppe, Minnesota, and Gretchen Dotseth of Anoka, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; grandson Michael Alness; great grandson Joshua Dotseth; all her brothers: Alvin, Ernest, and Murl Isaacs, and Reed Stevens; and sisters Inez and Cynthia Tongen, Myrtle Smith and Genevieve LeCount; and by her daughter-in-law, Joanne Grinager Dotseth.
