Gladys A. Helgeson July 23rd, 1921 - May 11th, 2017 Gladys Helgeson, of Clarkfield died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield at the age of 95. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Pastor Deborah Nissen will officiate and burial will be at Bergen Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church. Gladys Aldora (Christopherson) Helgeson was born on July 23, 1921, near Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Gustav and Alma (Stenson) Christopherson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church in Stony Run Township. Gladys attended grade school in Lisbon Township and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1939. She attended Calhoun Business School in Minneapolis. She was employed at AMPI for 30 years. On October 6th, 1940, Gladys was united in marriage to Edward Helgeson in Paso Robles, California. To this union two children were born: Patricia and Michael. Gladys was a generous and humble caretaker with a dry sense of humor. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, ceramics, bowling, tea parties, and beating her great-grandchildren at chinese checkers. Most of all she enjoyed sharing her infamous baked goods with guests. Gladys is survived by two granddaughters, Krista (Robin) Bissell of Los Angeles, CA and Rochell (Eric) Prigge of Watertown, MN, four great-grandchildren, Shane and Dylan Bissell and Jordyn and Kendall Prigge, one daughter-in-law, LeAnn Helgeson of Champlin, MN, and one son-in-law, Lowell Lundy, of St. Paul, MN.
