Gertrude LaPolice was born July 24, 1894, to Ambrose and Bella Olson in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized by Rev. Strand in the Yellow Medicine Church and confirmed by Rev. Haugan at Silo Lutheran Church. She lived most of her years in the Cottonwood area, except for 12 years when she worked in Minneapolis. She returned to Cottonwood and made her home with her brother and sister, Arnold and Inez Olson, and stayed there until she became ill and went to live at the Minneota Manor. She is survived by two sisters, Inez Olson of Cottonwood, Ada Wangsness of the Minneota Manor; and several nieces (ncluding Mrs. Jerule Kise and Mrs. Dennis Erie) and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister. She passed away Monday, January 15, 1979, at the Minneota Manor at the age of 84 years.
