Gerhard A. Wilson was born in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, January 17, 1885, the eldest in the family of five children of Hans G. Wilson and Elsie (Sorenson) Wilson. He was baptized in 1885 by Pastor Ole Lokensgaard and confirmed by Pastor H.O. Fjeldstad in 1900, at Bergen Lutheran Church. On October 31, 1909, he was married by Rev. J.J. Salhus to the former Cora Wilson at her parental home in Stony Run Township, the O.C. Wilsons. He attended school in District 26 and later attended the Willmar Seminary. Mr. Wilson, who until his retirement, farmed in Hazel Run Township, maintained a particular interest in dairy. He thoroughly enjoyed working with this aspect of 4-H Club work. He was a lover of horses and in the earlier days practiced this hobby. He served on the creamery and town boards in Hazel Run Township. Mr. Wilson's health had been failing gradually the past four years. Late in March of this year, he suffered a stroke which caused his death early Friday morning, March 29, 1968, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 83 years.
