George Waldemar Lindquist was born on April 17, 1913, in Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Nels and Caroline (Skaal) Lindquist. He was baptized and confirmed at the Swedish Lutheran Church. He attended Country School and completed the 8th grade at the Clarkfield Schools. George farmed with his brother, John, all of his adult life. He was an avid sports fan and the Minnesota Twins were a 'favorite'. He enjoyed gardening and raised all kinds of vegetables and flowers. George has lived at the Clarkfield Care Center for the past years. He enjoyed his life there and participated in many of their activities. He passed away at the Care Center on Friday evening, March 2, 2007, at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 15 days. He is survived by five nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Carl, John, Carl, Gustav and Oscar Lindquist and four sisters: Ida Melbostad, Hulda Hegdahl, Anna Meyer and Hannah Johnson.
