Obituary

George Lauve was born October 15, 1903, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Charley G. Lauve and Anna Iverson Lauve. He was baptized in Clarkfield Lutheran Church as an infant by Rev. O.C. Farseth and confimed there June 23, 1918, by Pastor O.T. Storaasli. He attended the rural public school and then for one year was a student at the Agricultural School in St. Paul, Minnesota. On May 6, 1934, he was united in marriage to Ruby E. Rolstad. They have lived in Clarkfield ever since except for two years on the west coast during which time Mr. Lauve was engaged in defense work for the government. For a number of years Mr. Lauve operated a barber shop in Clarkfield. Disposing of his shop, he spent two years in a defense plant out west, and after his return to Clarkfield he entered the plumbing business which was his occupation the rest of his life. Death came very suddenly Tuesday morning, December 14, 1954. It was caused by a heart attack. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elvine (Mrs. Gilbert Holum) who passed away in 1948, and his parents. Surviving Mr. Lauve, besides his wife, Ruby, are two sisters, namely, Helen (Mrs. Roy Christensen) of Spokane, Washington, and Nettie (Mrs. Alfred Knutson) of St. Olaf, Iowa; also a host of friends and former patrons who recall his friendly manner and efficient work.
