George Louis Gilbertson was born September 11, 1902, on a farm northeast of Boyd, Minnesota, the son of John and Ida (Dahl) Gilbertson. He was baptized October 26, 1902, at St. Petri Church by Rev W.B. Dahl, and confirmed May 27, 1917, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd by Rev. E.O. Eid. On October 21, 1930, he was united in marriage to Helen Anderson of Hanley Falls By Rev. Tollefson in Montevideo. He helped on the farm with his dad and brothers until he began employment at the Farmers Elevator in Boyd which he continued for 45 years until he retired in 1971. He was a lifetime Boyd resident. He passed away Thursday evening, May 27, 1976, at the University of Minnesota Masonic Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years. Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son, Richard of St. James; one daughter, Norma (Mrs. Roger Kussatz) of LaMoure, North Dakota; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Edwin and Harry of Boyd, and Arnold of Minneapolis; two sisters: Mrs. Gertie Stevens of Boyd and Alma (Mrs. Peder Eidem) of Montevideo. IN MEMORY OF GEORGE L.
