George Forberg was born January 28, 1902, to Jorgen and Christine (Amundson) Forberg on the family farm near Clarkfield, Minnesota. There he lived for 57 years. The last eleven years he resided in Montevideo, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Spring Creek Church from which he was buried. He had served as a school board member for many years. Mr. Forberg died Wednesday morning, April 29, 1970, at the home of his nephew, Art Berg, where he was working that morning, at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife, Ella; two sons, Elmer and Howard Gelhar of Minneapoilis; five grandchildren; two sisters: Hilda (Mrs. Oscar Olson) of Clarkfield, and Evelyn (Mrs. Clifford Smiley) of Roger, Arkansas. Preceding him in death were his parents and five of the eight family members, namely: Fred, Alvin, Juel, Olga and Mabel Forberg.
