Gary Leland Johnson (January 25, 1941 ~ December 19, 2011) Gary Leland Johnson went home to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on December 19, 2011, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 25 days. Gary was born at home in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, to Leland and Hazel (Bergstrand) Johnson on January 25, 1941. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Johnson and both sets of grandparents as well as many aunts, uncles and other loved ones. He is survived by his father, Leland Johnson of Clarkfield; sister, Barbara Morain of Minneapolis; brother, Richard (Sandy) Johnson of Richfield; sister, Sue (Rolland) Olson of Blaine; and brother David (Connie) Johnson of Eagan. He is also survived by six nephews, three nieces, six grandnephews and six grandnieces. Gary attended grade school and part of high school in Benson, Minnesota, until the family moved to Clarkfield in 1955. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in May of 1959 and joined the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the service he held many different positions in Minneapolis, Marshall, Clarkfield and finished his work life with early retirement from the United States Post office in Willmar when his sight began to fail. Gary loved to be around people and always had something to share with them. He loved the Lord and being at church and Bible Studies. He loved music and playing the piano until he wasn't able to anymore. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed. Blessed be his memory. In Loving Memory of Gary L.
