Freida Vongberg was born on April 29, 1887, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Christina Vongberg. She was baptized on May 29, 1887, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Swede Home Lutheran Church on August 10, 1902, by Pastor C.E. Skaleen. She lived on the farm in Swede Prairie Township for a number of years and then moved to Clarkfield where she became a member of the town church. She was a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home since 1953. She passed away on March 26, 1964, at the age of 76 years. She was the last of the Vongberg family. Her parents, one sister, Annie, and two brothers, Emil and Edwin, preceded her in death. She will be missed by several cousins and friends.
