Frederick Henry Roske was born in Barber Township, Faribault County, Minnesota, on October 6, 1878, to Wilhelm and Caroline (Norenborg) Roske. At the age of five he came to Omro Township in Yellow Medicine County with his parents. On November 6, 1912, he was united in marriage to Amelia Golnick at St. John's Lutheran Church by Pastor William Pankow. To this union three daughters were born: Freda, Elsie and Lydia. Mr. Roske passed away December 13, 1951, in Canby, Minnesota, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 7 days. He had resided on his present farm in Tyro Township for the past 40 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and three daughters: Freda (Mrs. Alfred Weckwerth) of Montevideo, Elsie (Mrs. Elmer Piipke) of Minneota, and Lydia (Mrs. Elvin Stoering) of Boyd; six grandchildren; three sisters: Emma ( Mrs. Roske) of Boyd, Martha (Mrs. Fred T. Leppke) of Minneota, Augusta (Mrs. Carl Gottschalk) of Montevideo; five brothers: Ludwig of Minneota, Sam of Omaha, Nebraska, Edward of Brainerd and Oscar of Hanley Falls. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary (Mrs. Henry Krienke) and two brothers: Albert and one who died in infancy.
