Frank Lloyd Schuler was born July 24, 1915, at Madison, Minnesota, the son of Walter and Hephzibah (Doncaster) Schuler. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Pastor William Hennig at Canby, Minnesota. He attended rural school and in the spring of 1935 the family moved to the Granite Falls, Minnesota area. On September 30, 1941, he was married to Jennie Bontjes of Clara City, Minnesota. They had one son, Larry, of Granite Falls. Frank farmed in the Granite Falls area his entire life and spent the last six winters in Mesa, Arizona. In January 1981 he retired from active farming and moved into their new home in Granite Falls. He passed away suddenly on Saturday morning December 26, 1981, in Mesa, Arizona. Surviving are his wife, Jen; son, Larry; daughter-in-law, Miriam; grandchildren, Brenda, Chris and Corey; mother-in-law, Effie Bontjes, of Clara City; brothers, Arnold, Casper, Wyoming, Earl, Madison, Minnesota, Harold, Murvin, Robert and Howard of Granite Falls; and sisters, Dora Olson, Granite Falls, Mary Lou Smith, Holloway, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents.
