Frances A. Oien Kelm was born on October 3, 1910, at Boyd, Minnesota, to parents Ole and LeSetta (Weigers) Oien. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd by Pastor Martin Lein. Frances married Arnold H. Kelm at Madison, Minnesota, on May 31, 1929. They were the parents of three children: Richard, Sharon, and Lola Mae. Frances and Arnold made their home in Boyd, where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church her entire life. Frances lived in Boyd until about six years ago when she moved to Parkview Apartments in Dawson, Minnesota. She remained there until she moved to Prairie Meadow Assisted Living in Dawson. Frances passed away at her residence on Tuesday evening, January 24, 2006, at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 21 days. She is survived by her son Richard Kelm of Dawson and daughter Sharon (and Joe) Laux of Auburn, Washington. She is also survived by six Grandchildren: Susan, Desiree, Tammy, Cindy, Kevin, and Patty and by 12 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Granddaughter. Survivors also include sisters-in-law: Elaine Liebried and Irene Oien; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold in 1961; daughter Lola Mae Kelm; and brothers: Alfred, Clarence, Raymond, and Chester Oien.
