Florence F. Haugland was born on August 18, 1904, at Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Gertrude (Rosenfeld) Christensen. She was baptized on October 17, 1904, by Rev. Poelhke at the ELC Church in Marshall. The family moved to the Hazel Run community when she was at an early age and she attended the school in that community. In 1922, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, who preceded her in death. Two children were born to this union, namely, Merald and Kathryn. On May 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Elmer Haugland of Hazel Run. She was a member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church and active in the aid and Legion Auxiliary activities. Mrs. Haugland passed away Tuesday morning, April 4, 1967, at the Methodist Hospital at Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 62 years. She had been a patient there since the early part of January. She was preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; two sisters, Mae and Mrs. Minnie Wolff. Left to mourn her departure are her husband, Elmer, of Hazel Run; son, Merald of Cokato, Minnesota; daughter, Kathryn (Mrs. Jim Hansen) of Granite Falls, Minnesota; four grandchildren; two sisters: Gladys (Mrs. Henry Just) of Wood Lake, Minnesota, and Mayme (Mrs. Alfred Tollefson) of Oakland, California; brothers: Ben W. Christensen of Minneapolis, and Marty Christensen of Canby, Minnesota. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
