(Diggins) Falkum
July 19, 1891 – October 17, 1962
Florence May Falkum was born July 19, 1891, at Butler Center, Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Amanda (Marsh) Diggins. She came to Minnesota with her father at an early age, first living at Austin and then moving on to the Hazel Run community On February 17, 1909, she was united in marriage to Tom Falkum. Five children were born to this union, namely, Raymond, at home, Melvin and Ethel (Mrs. Jesse Willander) of Clarkfield, Gladys (Mrs. William McLean) of Clayton, Wisconsin, and Marjorie (Mrs. Philip Kvistad) of Wood Lake, Minnesota. She moved to Clarkfield about two years ago. She was an active member of the Clarkfield Gospel Tabernacle. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior in June 1935 and followed the Lord in water baptism the same year. She passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on October 17, 1962, at the age of 71 years. Her husband preceded her in death on March 11, 1958; a granddaughter, Beverly McLean Mausolf in April of 1962; and a sister, Bertha Diggins Bailey on July 16, 1939. Mourning her departure are her five children; one daughter-in-law; three sons-in-law; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Norm Diggins of Waterloo, Iowa, and Tom Diggins of Granite Falls, Minnesota; a sister, Anna (Mrs. Charley Moore) of Allison, Iowa; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
