Miss Delia Miller was born in Swede Prairie Township, Cottonwood, Minnesota, in Yellow Medicine County on June 27, 1902. The daughter of Hans O. Miller and Marie Reishus Miller. She was baptized July 13, 1902, by Rev. Martin Romstad and confirmed June 3, 1917, by Rev. Martin Romstad both at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. She grew up in Swede Prairie Township. She attended Sunny Plain Country School District #99 of Swede Prairie Township. She helped out with housework in various homes where she was needed. She worked for a time in Minneapolis but returned home to care for her parents. They moved to a farm in Normania Township and resided there till after the death of both parents. She and her sister Alice moved to a home in Cottonwood in 1963. Delia moved to an apartment in West Prairie Apartments in 1977. The last five years have been spent at the Clarkfield Care Center. She was a life long member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church and the Women's organization. She enjoyed crocheting and made several afghans for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed visiting with people and always had a concern for the ones around her. Delia died at the Clarkfield Care Center on Saturday, August 31, 1991, at the age of 89 years. She is survived by Nephews: Gene Miller of Willmar, Minnesota, Howard Miller of Jordan, Minnesota; Nieces: Mildred (Mrs. Howard Hawkinson) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Stella Weinhold of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Florence (Mrs. Fred) Benson of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Beulah (Mrs. Norman) Anderson of Cottonwood, Minnesota; and Sister-in-law, Sylvia Miller of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Truman and Lestof Miller; sisters, Anna (who died at 2 years of age), Hilda Peterson Nelson, Alice Miller, and Celia Mauland. Blessed be her memory.
