Everette C. Simonson was born on July 8, 1917, on a farm outside of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, to parents Nels and Dorothy (Oftedahl) Simonson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. Everette married Lyla Francis Thompson on July 1, 1953, at Adrian, Minnesota. He was a World War II Veteran and received the 'Medal of the Jubilee of Liberty' at Normandy. He worked at Rogers Hydraulics in Granite Falls, Minnesota. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting. Everette was living in Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the time of his death. He reached the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 7 days. He is survived by his sister Dorris (Dixie) Simonson Welch of Vancouver, Washington; three step-children: Viva (and Wayne) Inners of York, Pennsylvania, Krystle (and Lowell) Kinstler of Houston, Minnesota, and Charlotte (and Brad) Leonard of Wood Lake, Minnesota. Also surviving is granddaughter Sharon (and Jeff) Lobdell of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and 16 other grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lyla; brother Donald; step-son Lawrence Johnson Jr.; and step daughter Geraldine (Johnson) Koster.
