Everett Lester Shaw was born April 10, 1917, to parents George and Florence (Comstock) Shaw in Dinning, New Mexico. He attended Country School in Frazier Township. Everett married Helen Gerhardt on December 25, 1939. They farmed in the Welcome, Minnesota, area until March of 1954. At that time, they moved to Barrett, Minnesota, and farmed until 1963. They then moved to Appleton, Minnesota, and owned and operated a Motel. He also worked as a trucker for sugar beets and corn and worked in the potato fields. The Shaw's lived in Sanborn, Minnesota, and owned and operated the "Shaw Westside Bar" until 1984. They bought a retirement home in Perham, Minnesota, and lived there until June of 1993. They then moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, and lived there until January of 2002. Everett was living at Luther Haven Nursing Home of Montevideo, Minnesota, with his wife at the time of his death. He passed away early Thursday morning, November 6, 2003, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 27 days. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Montevideo; and his children: daughter Marilyn Graff of Eagen, Minnesota, daughter Diane (and Roy) Lancaster of Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, daughter Bonnie (and Gene) Muenchow of Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, daughter Wanda (and Kenneth) Benson of Hancock, Minnesota, son Wendell (and Rhanda) Shaw of Frazee, Minnesota, and daughter Connie Krebs of Olivia, Minnesota. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sister Gladys DeBoer (and husband Harold), sister Dorothy Schultz; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert Shaw and Harold Shaw; grandson Scott Muenchow; and sons-in-law Wallace Graff and Ronald Krebs.
