Obituary

Everett William Hedin was born at Mission Hill, South Dakota, on February 26, 1921. He was the son of the late Otto and Clara (Rogen) Hedin. He was baptized and confirmed at the Wang Lutheran Church, rural Maynard, Minnesota. He grew up in Wang township and attended school there and in Maynard. On September 18, 1942, Everett was united in marriage to Lorraine Rosaasen. She passed away on April 24, 1982. On November 20, 1982, he married Betty Mauland of Clarkfield. Everett farmed for 40 years in Wang township and moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, in 1983. He served as the custodian at the Clarkfield Community Center until the time of his death. He also helped his wife, Betty, run an upholstery business. Everett enjoyed fixing anything and everything, loved his grandchildren, enjoyed farming and looking at his feeder cattle grow, helping people in time of need, visiting with friends, having lunch and chocolate cake. Everett was a resident of Clarkfield for nine years. He passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on Friday, January 17, 1992 of a heart attack at the age of 70. Surviving are his wife, Betty; mother; two half-sisters; and children and grandchildren: LuVerne & Marie Hedin, Geneva & Valerie of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Anita & Randy Schuler of Granite Falls, Minnesota, David & Debbie Hedin & Scott of Maynard,Minnesota, Tammy & Troy Zieske of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Jean (Hedin) & Herman Feldman, Chad & Tasha of Granite Falls, Minnesota; Eileen (Hedin) & Curtis Berg, Jason, Jeremy, & Jennifer of Mound, Minnesota; one step-son Richard Schueller, Jay & Gerry of Marshall, Minnesota, Victoria Giese of Mason City, Iowa. Preceding Everett in death were his parents and first wife, Lorraine.
