Evelyn L. Wiegers, 80, of Boyd, Minnesota, passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, on Monday, June 5, 1989. Funeral services for Evelyn Wiegers will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 8, 1989, from Redeemer Lutheran Church of Boyd with Pastor Roger A. Rekstad officiating. Organist will be Kathy Jahn with vocal music by Bonnie Rikke. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Boyd. Serving as Casket Bearers are Jerry Gruell, Don Hutt, Duane Lehmann, Paul Pipke, David Wiegers and Ordell Zietlow. Evelyn was born in Tacoma, Washington, on January 3, 1909, to Julius and Mari (Hoogenson) Wannebo. She attended school in Mora, Minnesota. On March 9, 1929, she was united in marriage to Walter H. Wiegers in Mora. Evelyn spent her life as a homemaker and was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Boyd. She is survived by three children, Lyle Wiegers of Marshall, Minnesota; Phyllis Leenerts of Blaine, Minnesota, and Donald Wiegers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Ina and Edna.
