Evelyn Eleanor Dotseth was born to parents Mons and Sophie (Simonson) Rache on March 30, 1913, in Stony Run Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. On April 27, 1913, she was baptized at Bergen Lutheran Church and confirmed there in 1927. She attended District 14 School and graduated in 1931 from Granite Falls High School, Granite Falls, Minnesota Evelyn lived and worked on the home farm until 1956, when she moved to Granite Falls. Her vocations included Secretary for the County School Superintendent and housekeeping. Gardening, reading, and keeping family records were her pastimes. Nature, especially flowers, were a wonderful delight to her. Evelyn was united in marriage with Virgil Dotseth on January 3, 1959, at her mother's home. Although they did not have children of their own, Evelyn was always available and supportive of her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and neighborhood children. After a lengthy illness, Evelyn passed away on Monday, March 5, 2001, at her niece's home in Stony Run Township at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 4 days. She is survived by two brothers, Charles of Granite Falls and Stanley of Montevideo, Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Irene Rache of Montevideo, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister Dena Monson; and brothers: Levi, Roy, Henry and Monroe. Blessed be her memory.
