Evelyn L. Granell was born on September 15, 1909 in Renville, Minnesota, to parents Malcolm and Laura (Fleckenstien) Johnson. At age 18, she moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota. Evelyn married Lee Granell on April 26, 1930. To this union seven children were born: Dallas, Marilyn, Darlene, Wanda, Rosalee, Lee Wayne and Larry. Evelyn was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Clarkfield. She played the piano for Sunday School for many years and also for the church for seven years. She was well known in Clarkfield for having worked for Appleseth Produce, R & F Variety and the Clarkfield Bakery. She moved to West Prairie Apartments in Cottonwood, where she resided for about 20 years. Evelyn passed away on Wednesday morning, October 28, 1998, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 14 days. She is survived by daughters: Marilyn (and Dean) Baker, Darlene (and Glenn) Oftedahl, Rosalee (and Charles) Savoie; and sons: Lee Wayne and Larry. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee in 1972; daughters: Dallas and Wanda; three grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; and her parents. Blessed be her memory.
