Esther Swenson, 81, passed on January 23, 1989, at her home in Hazel Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where she had spent her entire life. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 1989, from the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Organist was Colleen Hewitt with vocal music by Mavis Ellingson. Burial was in the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery of Hanley Falls. Serving as Casket Bearers were John Anderson, Lyman Ellingson, Arlan Gustafson, James Rowberg, Allen Stengel and Gene Stengel. Esther Swenson was born on June 7, 1907, to John and Bergit (Dahly) Swenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Hanley Falls. She attended rural school and the Minneapolis Business College. Esther was a homemaker and after the death of her sister and brothers, she managed her farms. She was a member of the W.E.L.C A. of her church and was a volunteer at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Esther is survived by two nieces, Vivian (Mrs. Edwin) Wandersee, and lona (Mrs. Donald) Larson both of Audubon, Minnesota; and a number of cousins.
