Obituary

Esther Tillie Seeman was born on their farm place in the rural Maynard, Minnesota, area on March 4, 1931, to Erick and Ida Macziewski Seeman. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church, Havelock Township. She lived on various farm places with her parents and brother Arnold. On July 8, 1953, Esther was united in marriage to Virgil Lettau at Trinity Lutheran Church, Havelock Township. To this union five children were born, Mike, Bruce, Sandy, Barb, and Debbie. In 1966 they moved to the Clarkfield, Minnesota area where she helped neighbors with housekeeping and then received employment in Clarkfield doing waitress and cooking jobs. From 1984 to 1988 Esther worked at Clarkfield Enterprises. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran LWML. She enjoyed her family, friends, and having coffee at the Mall in Clarkfield. After a long battle with cancer, Esther passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on September 11, 1991, at the age of 60 years, 6 months, and 7 days. Survivors include son, Mike and Karen Lettau and grandsons, Jason and Shaun of Montevideo, Minnesota; son, Bruce Lettau of Clarkfield; daughter, Sandy and Greg Koepp and grandchildren, Joshua, Joel, and Amanda of Boyd, Minnesota; and daughter, Barb and Eloit Willander and grandchildren, Aaron and Amalinda (Amy) of Hopkins, Minnesota; her mother Ida Seeman of the Clara City Nursing Home; her brother Arnold and lone Seeman of Montevideo, Minnesota. Sisters-in-law, Verna Jean Eisenlohr of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Vernice and Ray Stegeman of Montevideo, Minnesota, and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband, Virgil in 1984; infant daughter, Debra in 1961; father, Erick Seeman in 1985; and brother-in-law, Clyde Eisenlohr.
