Esther Florence Pratt was born October 13, 1913, at Clearbrook, Minnesota, to Lars and Helene (Narveson) Klyberg. She was the youngest of ten children and was about three years old when they moved to Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, near Montevideo, Minnesota. On October 14, 1931, she married Ralph Edwin Pratt. Three children were born to this union: Richard, Wayne and Mary. Esther passed away on Thursday morning, July 8, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, where she resided with her daughter the past couple of years. Esther was 85 years, 8 months, and 26 days old. She was a lifetime member of Clarkfield Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School, served in the women's missions, and on the Board of Deacons for many of her later years. She also, was a Nurse's Aid at the Clarkfield Care Center for several years. She loved gardening, flowers, sewing quilts and crocheting. Esther is survived by her sons: Richard (Virginia) Pratt of North Mankato, Minnesota, Wayne (Lois) Pratt of Breckenridge, Minnesota; and daughter: Mary (Gerald) Henry of Rochester, Minnesota. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one sister, Leona Welch of Dawson, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1981; five sisters; three brothers; and one great grandson. Blessed be her memory.
