Mrs. Esther Mae Gustafson was born at White, South Dakota, on October 31, 1901, the daughter of Clarence and Ella (Coughlin) Parr. The family moved to Ogilvie, Minnesota, in 1914. After graduating from high school, she attended St. Cloud Teachers College and taught school for a number of years. She was married to Elmer W. Gustafson of Ogilvie on June 2, 1929, and the family has made its home on a farm near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, ever since. To this union three sons were born: Stanton, Earle and Lowell. Mrs. Gustafson had been of failing health for the past two years. She passed quietly away at her home Saturday morning, March 24, 1956. Her husband, Elmer and her three sons, Stanton, of Norfolk, Virginia, and Earle and Lowell at home, survive her; also one brother, Franklin of Mora, Minnesota. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Gustafson was a member of Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls and when she was able, very active in the ladies aid, the Women's Mission Guild of which she was a member.
