Esther Marie Willander, 75, of Granite Falls, Minnesota, died Friday, November 15, 1985, at the Granite Falls Hospital. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 1985, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Ralph Belin officiating. Organist was Mrs. Rhoda Nelson. Soloist, Ross Riecke sang "Abide With Me" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Congregational Hymns were "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." She was born March 26, 1910, at Astoria, South Dakota, to Axel and Agnes (Hendrickson) Osterberg. She went to school in Clear Lake, South Dakota, and married Odin Olson on June 4, 1925. They had four children and lived in Bruce, South Dakota, moving later to Canby, where he died. She married Delmer Willander on March 28, 1959, and they farmed south of Clarkfield, moving later to Boyd, Minnesota. She worked in several cafes and was on several bowling leagues. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. She recently moved to Henry Hills Apartments in Granite Falls. She was survived by daughter Donna (Mrs. LuVerne) Schewe of Granite Falls; sons Harold and Virgil Olson of Oro Grande, California; sister Evelyn Melcher; brothers Harry and Walter Osterling of Brookings, South Dakota, and Elmer Osterberg of New Richmond, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a daughter and two grandsons.
