Esther Olson, 85, passed away on July 27, 1988, after a lengthy illness, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 1988, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Pastor Larry Olson officiated at the services. The organist was Zee Ann Reishus and Mavis Ellingson was the soloist. Casket Bearers were David, Ron and Gary Olson, Jason and John Lee and Scott Zwack. Final Resting Place was in the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. She was born in Skane, Sweden on December 4, 1902, to Otto and Maria (Anderson) Pearson and immigrated to the United States in 1918. In 1926 she married Jacob Olson and has lived in the Hanley Falls area all her life. She has been a member of the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church for 68 years. She is survived by children Merlin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Roger of Wood Lake, Minnesota, and Edie Lee of Minneapolis; step-children Irene Poole of Winnebago, Minnesota, Evelyn Layng of Minneapolis, Marie Ueland of Minneapolis and Millard Olson of Pueblo, Colorado. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her sister Lena Bestland of Hanley Falls.
