Esther Juelia Lynne was born June 29, 1903 in Normania Township to parents Oscar and Elizabeth (Hoiland) Anderson. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1921. Esther married Arden Lynne on September 16, 1925. The couple was blessed with eight children. Esther and Arden were owners of the 'Red and White Grocery' in Clarkfield for over 40 years. She spent her entire life in the Clarkfield area. She resided in her home till she entered the Clarkfield Care Center in 1991. Esther was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, the Legion Auxiliary, the church choir, and the Ladies Choir. She had a love of poetry and music. Esther was also a caregiver for many years of her life. She sang at many funerals. She was well known for her cooking and baking (especially her sugar cookies) which she so generously shared with others. Esther passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Saturday, January 17, 1998 at the age of 94 years, 6 months, and 20 days. She is survived by her sons, Richard (and Lila) of Black River Falls, Wi; Arden (and Ethel) of Clarkfield, and Stanley (and Shirley) of Ortonville; and daughters Mary (and John) Solien of Aitkin, Margaret Weingartner of Denver, CO and Elizabeth (and Harry) Nordwick of Madera, CA; brother Ralph and sister Agnes Anderson of Minneapolis; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Anderson, her husband, two sons, Wesley and Ralph, five brothers, and two sisters and granddaughter, Ann Lynne.
