Esther Lorraine Brovold Nelson was born February 9, 1924, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Bernard and Emma Brovold. She attented the rural school in District 11. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Haugland in the Bergen Lutheran Church where she was a member at that time. On August 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Anton Nelson. Three children, Allen, 19, Dianna, 14 and Donna, 9, were born to this union. She died tragically on Thursday, April 9, 1970, at Dawson, Minnesota, at the age of 46 years. She spent her entire life in the Boyd community. She is survived by her husband, Anton; three children; five brothers and three sisters: Olaf of Montevideo, Minnesota, Jennie Peterson of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Cora Johnson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Benford of Boyd, Minnesota, Ernest of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Mamie Amundson of Dawson, Minnesota, Ingeval and Clinton of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and 16 nieces and nephews.
