Obituary

Ervin Glen Thompson was born to Knute and Bettie (Peterson) Thompson on April 10, 1928 in Westerheim Township. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1946. Following graduation, he joined the family business of K.A. Thompson and Sons Road Construction. He married Bethlyn Freter, of Marshall, on February 26, 1950. They lived in the Cottonwood area all their lives. Ervin was disabled due to an accident while on a road construction job in November of 1954. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and an active member in the Lion's Club. His main hobbies were waterskiing, playing cards, and socializing. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Cottonwood, MN on Sunday, March 9, 1997 at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and 28 days. He is survived by his children: Cheryl (and Larry) Crowder of Alamosa, CO, Doug (and Susan) Thompson of Pine Island, MN, Cindy (and John) Knabe of Jackson, MN, Cathy (and Matt) Yseth of Pipestone, MN, and Christi Thompson (Scott Fratzke) of Minneapolis, MN and grandchildren Pat, David, Jeremiah, Adam, Stephanie, Kathryn, Tyler, Gavin, Derek, Connor, Maya, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beth, and his brother Kenneth. Blessed be his memory.
