Ervin Clayton Leppke was born on April 11, 1923 to Fred H. and Alma (Bonn) Leppke in Maxwell Township of Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. He was a life long member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was baptized at St. Johns and confirmed in 1936 by Pastor Fuerstenau. He attended St. Johns Parochial School. Erv married Jannieve Allickson on October 17, 1957. He farmed with his brothers until 1980 when health problems forced him to retire. He loved going fishing and hunting. During his later years, he loved to drive around the countryside and to mow his lawn. Ervin passed away on April 2, 1999 at the Johnson Memorial Nursing Home in Dawson at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 22 days, due to a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Jannieve; his parents; and brothers: Wilfred, Kermit, and a baby brother. He is survived by his brother Curtis (and wife Gladys) Leppke and nephew Randall Leppke of Boyd. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Betty Allickson of Lake Elmo; Gert Allickson of Montevideo; Inez Stringer of Oregon; and Eleanor Allickson of Brainerd; and cousins, other nieces, nephews and many friends.
