Funeral Services for Ernest Brovold were held Monday, April 30, 1984, 2:00 p.m., at Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, with Rev. William Klavetter officiating. Organist was Kathy Larson with Thoralf Benson as soloist. The congregation also sang. Casket Bearers were six of his nephews, namely Curtis Brovold, Jan Brovold, David Brovold, Ronald Martinson, James Peterson and Lyle Haroldson. Final Resting Place is Bergen Lutheran Cemetery, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Ernest W. Brovold was born in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Bennie and Emma (Iverson) Brovold. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church. He married Eileen Martinson on November 29, 1950. He lived all his life in the home community where he farmed the home place. He is survived by his wife Eileen; four brothers, Olaf of Montevideo, Minnesota, Benford of Boyd, Minnesota, Ingval and Clinton of Granite Falls, Minnesota; three sisters, Jennie Peterson of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Cora Johnson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Mayme Amundson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He passed away at his home as a result of the storm on April 26, 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Esther Nelson.
