(Wiegers) Weise
August 28, 1902 – February 12, 1983
Emma Margaretha Weise, the daughter of Benny and Ottilia (Bittler) Wiegers was born August 28, 1902, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She became a child, of God through the sacrament of holy baptism on September 7, 1902, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Omro Township. In her youth, Emma attended grade school at St. John's Parochial School and District #44. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John's Lutheran Church on April 16, 1916. At that same church she was united in marriage to Leonard Weise on June 20, 1931. Following their marriage, Emma and Leonard lived in rural Lafayette, Minnesota, for six years, where their son Arnold was born; and then four years in the Boyd, Minnesota area. Since 1941 they have lived on their farm in Normania Township northwest of Cottonwood, Minnesota. On February 9, 1983, Emma entered the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, where she was summoned to God's glory three days later, on February 12th. She had attained the age of 80 years, 5 months and 15 days. Emma leaves to hope in the resurrection to eternal life her husband Leonard; son Arnold; four sisters: Mrs. Helmer (Anna) Hveem, Mrs. Roy (Lillie) Lindblad, Mrs. Carl (Elsie) Witt, and Mrs. Arthur (Emily) Riediger; and four brothers: Bennie Wiegers, Adolph Wiegers, Karl Wiegers, and Arnold Wiegers. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Wilhelm. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
