Emma J. Quale was born October 17, 1901, to parents Nels O. and Anna Marie (Kjos) Quale of Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Emma attended the Clarkfield Schools and graduated from the St. Cloud Business College. She worked at the Federated Store in Clarkfield. From there she was employed at the Korth Hotel as a cook until later when she became the head cook for the Clarkfield Community Hospital where she was employed for many years. Emma passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 1982, at the age of 81 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Bennie, Elmer and Gifford Quale. She is survived by her sister, Alma Jensen of California; two half sisters, Evelyn Smith and Irene Quale both of California; one half brother, Raymond Quale of California; cousins Oscar Kittleson and Mrs. E.H. Hoberg both of Montevideo, Minnesota.
