Emma Dotseth was born May 9, 1877, in the Spring Creek community, the daughter of Ole and Ingeborg (Peterson) Oraas. She was baptized in the Yellow Medicine congregation of Hanley Falls, by Rev. Thorstenson and confirmed in Saint Lucas Church by the same pastor. She attended school in Marshall, Minnesota, and taught in the rural schools for a number of years. On May 26, 1900, she married Mr. Albert N. Dotseth. They bought a farm four miles south of Clarkfield on which they lived until 1943, when they sold the farm and moved to Hazel Run. Mrs. Dotseth was a member of the Spring Creek Church and a member of the Aid of that church since her marriage. She was given a life membership in the Aid in December, 1950. She had been confined to the Memorial Hospital much of the time since then. Death came peacefully to Mrs. Dotseth on Saturday, June 2, 1951, at 10:30 p.m., at age 74 years, 23 days.
