Emma Molstad was born November 2, 1879, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Brede Molstad and Maria (Melbostad) Molstad and was one of a family of six children. She was baptized by Rev. K. Thostenson and confirmed by Rev. O. Lokensgaard in the Bergen Lutheran Church and has since been a member of that congregation. When a young woman she was stricken with a disease that left her a semi-invalid. She attended a millinery school in Minneapolis and after learning this trade operated stores in Hanley Falls and Clarkfield. Emma passed away January 13, 1954, at the Madison Lutheran Home, Madison, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years, two months and 11 days. She leaves to mourn her passing one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Grinager, sister- in-law, Mrs. Gunda Molstad; four nieces and two nephews and a host of friends. Emma was kind and understanding and always ready where help was needed.
