Emma Lien was born on March 9, 1911, in New Rockford, North Dakota, to parents George and Pauline (Bole) Bohl. Emma married Ray Ferguson in September of 1930. They were the parents of three children: Alice, Phyllis and Paul. Ray passed away in May of 1938. Emma married John Lien in March of 1943. They resided in the Montevideo and Clarkfield areas until John's death in 1982. Emma moved to the Twin Cities area, where she resided with her daughter Alice until her death on May 2, 1998. She was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. Emma is survived by her sister, Rose Ova; daughter Alice West; son Paul Ferguson and his wife, Nancy. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, sister Edith and most recently daughter, Phyllis.
