Emma Margaret Krause was born in Faulk County, South Dakota, August 5, 1904, the daughter of William and Martha Krause. In her infancy she was baptized by Rev. G. Polock, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Faulk County. In 1918, she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. O.C. Wolff in Saint John's Lutheran Church, Sparta Township. She grew to womanhood and spent her youth in Sparta. On June 15, 1938, she entered into marriage with Ernest Kaupang. The couple made their home and resided near Boyd during most of their happy wedded life until her passing December 20, 1958, at 54 years of age. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Ernest; three sisters: Anna (Mrs. John Lehmann) of Boyd, Freda (Mrs. Martin Halvorson) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Sara (Mrs. Ben Winters) of Astoria, Oregon; three brothers: Gustav of Montevideo, Minnesota, Henry of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Willie of Oakridge, Oregon; 12 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded her into eternity. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
