Emma Josephine Jacobson, 99, passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota, on November 30, 1988, her 99th birthday. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 1988, at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Robert Lehner. Organist was Mrs. Robert Lehner with vocal duet by Ross and Kayann Riecke. Serving as Casket Bearers were Ellsworth Gunderson, Scott Haug, Kenneth and Stanley Jacobson, Bruce Kipley and Clayton Stevens. Final Resting Place was in the Spring Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Emma Jacobson was born November 30, 1889, in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota, to parents Hans and Cecelia (Nordhus) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On November 24, 1909, she was married to Henry O. Jacobson. They farmed in Normania Township for many years and later resided in Clarkfield. After her husband's death in 1966, Emma moved to the Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield. Since 1983 she has been a resident of the Granite Manor in Granite Falls. Emma is survived by her children, Mrs. Melvin (Amy) Halvorson of Granite Falls, Mrs. David (Evelyn) Kipley of Riverside, California, James of Palm Desert, California, and LeRoy of Granite Falls. She is also survived by a sister, Mabel Danielson of the Madison Lutheran Home; and two brothers, Gerhard and Raymond both of the Clarkfield Care Center; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, one brother and two sisters. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
