Emma Brusven was born June 17, 1883, in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Olaus and Anne (Rowberg) Brusven. She passed away September 11, 1973, at the age of 90 years at the Miller Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a resident of St. Paul for 50 years. The last eight years she was confined to the New Brighton Nursing Home. Emma is survived by one sister, Carrie Kise, Madison, Minnesota, and nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, September 13, 1973, at 1:00 p.m. from the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Edgar Urness, nephew, of Yankton, South Dakota, officiating. Casket Bearers were Giles Kise, Jerele Kise, J.B. Kise, and Todd Kise. Interment was in the St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota.
