Emily (Wiegers) Riediger was born on July 17, 1911, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Benny and Ottilia (Bittler) Wiegers. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Omro Township. She attended District #44 School and St. John's Parochial School. Emily and Arthur Riediger were married on October 9, 1937. They farmed by Boyd and Dawson for many years. After the death of Arthur in 1984, Emily moved to Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Valhalla. Emily entered the Clarkfield Care Center on February 4, 2003, where she passed away on Monday, April 7, 2003, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 29 days. She is survived by her brothers Karl (and Delia) Wiegers of Richfield, Minnesota, and Arnold Wiegers of Dawson, Minnesota, and nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Art; sisters: Anna Hveem, Emma Weise, Elsie Witt, and Lilly Lindblad; and brothers: Bennie, William and Adolph Wiegers.
