Emil Amundson was born November 22, 1898, to Olai and Anna (Hanson) Amundson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota. His first marriage was to Freda Enger in 1922. In 1939 he again married to Ida Thorhaug Severson. Emil lived in Clarkfield all his life. The last two years he resided in the Clarkfield Care Center. He worked on the railroad for over forty years. After a short illness he passed away Saturday morning, December 1, 1984, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1933; second wife in 1983; his parents; four sisters, Dorothea, Mary (Mrs. John Cornelius), Bessie (Mrs. Marvin Jorgenson) and Mathilda; five brothers, Alfred, Hans, Andrew, Theodore and Alvin. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Blessed be his memory.
