Elvin Hartford Lundin, 64, died October 9, 1987, at the Weiner Memorial Hospital of Marshall, Minnesota. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 13, 1987, from the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church, Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Organist was Colleen Hewitt and soloist was Mavis Ellingson. Honorary Casket Bearers were LeRoy Alm, Glen Blomke, Virgil Kockelman, Alvan Sander, Ordell Severson and Larry Sterzinger. Active Casket Bearers were Kent Fiegum, David Huth, Jr., Richard Huth, Bob Lundin, Bruce Lundin, Todd Maurice, Roger Sander and Kevin Schwer. Final Resting Place is East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery, Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was born July, 1923, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, to Edwin and Nancy (Anderson) Lundin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in rural Granite Falls. On January 1, 1943, he married Frances Fagerlie of Echo, Minnesota, and they had two children, Elaine and Jerald. After farming a number of years and doing construction work for several contractors, he entered into his own construction business which was his pride and joy. He served on the Hanley Falls Fire Department for 23 years, was a member of Pioneer Power Association and a member of L.I.C.A. He is survived by his wife, Frances of Hanley Falls; daughter Elaine and husband Vigil Maurice of Olivia; and son, Jerald and wife Marlys of Hanley Falls; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Harold of Edina, Minnesota, Raymond of Columbus, Georgia, Milton of Herford, Arizona, Glenn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Arden of Rio Rico, Arizona; aunt, Mrs. Laverne Ellyson of Newcastle, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
